joy the mosaics will bring. I hope Terri, Bindi and Bob will love the mosaic as it's really for them and my dream is children visiting Australia Zoo will stare at the mosaic mural in wonder and know that dreams can come true. Steve and Terri made their Australia Zoo dream come true.....and no-one ever knows what's ahead. Steve made me realise that it's now that matters and to get out there and to what makes you tick...be passionate.....and love what you do and the people around you.
The wonderful Terri will keep Australia Zoo grounded and moving into the future as Steve planned.
For me, to put out a simple email and receive such a flood of emotion and caring and to receive such enthusiasm and warmth from Australia Zoo is beyond all expectations. Learn to expect the unexpected. I never intended to demand a place for the mural at the zoo and I never have; it was up to the zoo and still is, on its final installation place. It's a project in motion, it's still under development. The Mosaic Addicts team here in 2008 will work its fingers to the bone making incredible sections of the mural and bringing it all together. Just know, that we respect all the contributions and will do our best to combine them into one of the world's most loved mosaics!
I share the same birthday date as Bindi and so it feels extra special; I will always think of her on my birthday. She is one very wonderful little girl and has an amazing mother to guide her. Terri has a wonderful team at Australia Zoo and I know how they all loved Steve, just speaking to Australia Zoo on the phone makes one feel cared about.
I know anyone who sees this mural when it's finally installed will see the love and care that has gone into the making of the mural - the same love and care that the Irwin family treat each other and others with....it's all about respect and privacy and allowing nature to take it's course.
Steve, thanks for being in my home, via the TV so often. Every time I see you on the wonderful TV documentaries my eyes mist over. You were a legend and we loved you, always will...... we enjoy Bindi and her wonderful shows. Steve, your antics and perhaps most of all - your passion for what you believed in are a rock for many to cling to....Terri, you have our support. Crocs Rule and By Crikey we will remember you - a much loved Mate!
