OzMosaics Workshops  
*all materials supplied-unless stated in course info.
*bring your own lunch, morning & afternoon tea and pop-up drinking water bottle or cold drinks.

A fact sheet will be emailed on what to bring, wear to the workshop etc.  Dave will assist you with directions to the studio.

OzMosaics stocks mosaic supplies - tools and equipment but each student has a full set of tools to use and test out during your workshop!

Book early to avoid disappointment.

Re cancellations, your deposit is non-refundable but transferable to another workshop, if cancelled a week prior to the workshop.

We do understand that sometimes events occur at the last minute.   We do our best to work in with you to accommodate your mosaic workshop.

Introduction to Mosaic Art - Beginner Workshop A - ONE DAY

Your introduction to mosaic art, Sandy Style!   Suitable for beginners or students wishing to update their skills with Sandy's tips and tricks.  In this introduction to mosaics workshop, you will make a beautiful mosaic trivet, which we fondly call a goZunda!  Goes under everything!     Each student is given a full set of tools to use during the course and a comfortable work area!

The valuable instruction you receive in this mosaic workshop gives you the skills to make your own mosaic art at home - perhaps make a mosaic table, mosaic pot or stepping stone.  Instead a doing a drawn-out , expensive mosaic course, at OzMosaics you learn the basics quickly and thoroughly - then plan your mosaics - knowing you will make a beautiful and enduring mosaic.   OzMosaics stocks all mosaic materials - a one stop mosaic shop with expert advice from a professional mosaic artist.   Book in to start your mosaic journey - after this workshop the advanced class will take you to new mosaic heights!  Be warned it's addicitve!   Your creative side will be unleased and you will find yourself collecting and gathering tesserae for your mosaics in shapes and forms you never dreamed of!

  

Introduction to Mosaic Art - Beginners A - EVENING Workshop  
3 Tuesday nights.   6.30-10.00pm          $125  
 Learn the basics, intro to mosaics Sandy Style!  Project: 1 small trivet with huge amounts of tips and tricks.

Workshop B - Advanced  Mosaic Class 
This is a wonderfully creative workshop!
Mosaic mini mural - mixed media mosaics.
$250 including materials.  You may be asked to bring a few cups and saucers!
After completing the beginner's class, this takes you to a whole new level - mixed media mosaics.

  •         Saturday/Sunday  17th/18th May  9 - 5 pm
  •         Saturday/Sunday  5th/6th July  9 - 5 pm
  •         Saturday/Sunday  26/27th July  9 - 5 pm


Students will make a 30 x 30 cm mosaic picture on MDF - a mosaic featuring a wheelbarrow cut from tile and mirror carting a barrow load of of mixed media flowers and foliage - to learn how to cut china, wine bottles creataive texture.  The background includes a mosaic section of a house, tree, sky etc etc.  Pattern supplied by OzMosaics

Mosaic instruction will cover, pique assiette, cutting china, wine bottles, using pebbles and found objects, blings and boings, installing mosaics, hanging mosaic art, advanced mesh applications, using thinset to shape, coat and glue advanced cutting tips & tricks - introduced by Sandy over the last 8 years.  You will love this workshop!  Mosaic slide shows - inspiration overload.
It is a pre-requisite that the Beginner Workshop at OzMosaics is completed before booking into this workshop or students have worked through Sandy's beginner dvd at home.    Everyone needs to be up to speed , Sandy Style to create this mini mural over a weekend workshop.   Have fun, make new mosaic friends and become even more addicted to mosaic art.

  5 Day  Mosaic Marathon Workshop  September 2008

* Mosaic Addicts Five Day Workshop, 9am - 4pm,
Monday to Friday, September 2008 School Holidays        $550.00
Explore the world of mixed media mosaics in this 5 day workshop making a mosaic masterpiece.  Suitable for beginners to advanced - treat yourself to the best week of mosaic making, fun, music, food, fabulous company and tons of mosaic instruction.  Limited accommodation available at OzMosaics otherwise accommodation close by - Book early!   Deposit  $50.00  will hold your place in this event.    
  
Project base and most materials included in the worksop cost - some materials may need to be purchased at the course and/or gathered up by the student and brought to the workshop.  Full fact sheets and project info will be available before the workshop.    Sandy has run similar workshops at the Grafton ArtsFest and you will benefit from attending this workshop at OzMosaics studio.  Guaranteed to be a mosaic marathon - and a fabulous time.

The recent weekend workshop was wonderful and thanks to all those who attended!  Many beginners have made their way to OzMosaics over the years and if you need a mosaic boost or a break away, the weekend workshops or mosaic addicts days may be perfect for you. 

If you can't make it to a workshop at OzMosaics, the beginner DVD will be available soon in the mosaic shop!  Most students will benefit from both the workshop and the dvd/fact sheet CD.   Join clubDIVA as the new newsletter will be issued once the online website is fully stocked.

Jam as much mosaic making as you can into your life - it's fantastic therapy and so good for you.  Meet and make new friends, share mosaic experiences and mosaic dreams.

This beautiful LazySusan (aka LazySandy!) is made on Sandy's light-weight moZboard - order a moZboard in the mosaic emporium shop or contact Dave to discuss your next moZboard substrate.  After your first mosaic workshop, you will find making a lazySandy a pleasurable experience.  Sandy has fantastic tips and tricks -- the new mosaic grids in store make borders a dream!

You will not be cutting china or doing mixed media in the beginner A workshop as there is simply not enough time to cover this wonderful mosaic adventure in this workshop, however, you will be stimulated as you will be surrounded by Sandy's works of art and projects in the making in the glassed-in studio poolside. (Workshop B is for china and more and can be booked after Workshop A is completed).

Sandy will supply students in Workshop A a CD of class notes and students may wish to purchase Sandy's beginner DVD for back-up info.   All students will automatically be enrolled in Sandy's clubDIVA and will receive mosaicMAG newsletters and special fact sheet and updates as members of clubDIVA, when it is ready to be released.   Frequent tiling points will be accumulated in clubDIVA and these will be applied to future purchases in the mosaic shop, in due course.
