OzMosaics has travelled extensively around the world, attending mosaic conferences, symposiums, photographing mosaics, making mosaics with communities and teaching the art of mosaics - cementing great friendships. It's a never-ending mosaic journey and story.
Soon Sandy will bring the "making of her mosaic murals" to mOs-Oz (Mosaic Online School and students enrolled will learn from her mosaic experiences, techniques and hopefully be inspired by Sandy's mosaic journey). It a huge task in the making of mOs-Oz but it will be full of mosaic memories and jam-packed with inspiration and fun! Register on this site to be informed when mOs-Oz is available on a computer screen near you! Find Sandy on Facebook or the Mosaic Addicts (Yahoo) Group to share your love of mosaics.

"Miss Sandra". A drawing of me, by one of the Hong Kong "kids" at the Chinese Methodist School, Tanner Hill Hong Kong - I visited for a day to teach mosaics. Great friendships were made and I was presented with a lovely mini banner of the school badge. I love the drawing and it's a very special mosaic memory of the trip to Hong Kong for my mosaic exhibition for the SINO group for the Eggstravaganza Easter 2011 promotion in Hong Kong. The students made two mosaics with me and surprised me at the Opening of the Exhibition with one of the mosaics to take home to my studio. Thank you so much "Hong Kong kids". You are great mosaic artists. I miss you all! Hope to see you soon! Thank you for coming to the opening of the Exhibition!
2011 finds OzMosaics with a new line of mosaic smalti, which I had the joy of naming Dynasty. Try Dynasty smalti, it's wonderful. The range keeps expanding - it's very exciting! I met the glass expert/artist ZengFang in USA and Hong Kong and we are great friends - we are both passionate about mosaics and the product. The dream - to provide quality smalti at affordable prices.
Sandy is busy working on many commissions at this time; exciting projects, workshops and exhibitions looming, upcoming trip to the MAANZ Symposium and more! Mosaic tables, kitchen backsplashes, pool feature wall murals, a set of murals for a Brisbane Church to name a few Art exhibition in July at Pine Rivers Gallery with Liz and Friends.
I am working on the website for Mos-Oz (Mosaic Online School Australia) and it will be linked with some very special places and of course, my students!).
IThe first six months of 2011 found me in USA and Hong Kong!
t's been an amazing 11 years and finally, I am taking some time to list some of the remarkable mosaic projects I have been fortunate to be involved with - including community mosaic projects, school projects, international projects, art awards, private commissions and more!
Thank you to all my clients, schools, teachers, students and customers who are so loyal and keep coming back for more and more mosaics. It's been a wonderful time working with you and sharing the joy of mosaics. My husband David, who is OzMosaics business manager/customer service manager runs OzMosaics efficiently, so that I am able to explore the world of mosaics, constantly experimenting and sharing mosaic ideas with other keen artists, friends and students. It's a never-ending journey and I am truly grateful.
During my time as Vice President of MAANZ (formerly mos-oz) and short time as President, I truly valued the assistance and friendship of many members. It was an exciting time, especially in Queensland, when a wonderful team formed the Queensland Branch and we certainly had some mosaic highlights attending Craft Fairs, demos, schools, conferences, Mater Children's Hospital at Captain Starlight Room and more.....bringing people together - the passion for mosaics is everywhere. A core group exists to this day, meeting regularly at OzMosaics studio - it's been a sentimental journey and we stuck together.
To other confirmed mosaic addicts, I can't thank you enough for your support, fun and constant support. There have been times when you have been there, over many long workbench hours, helping me bring community projects to life - a labour of mosaic love. I hope the stories, photos and love of mosaics shines in the links that will soon fill up the left hand menu on this page - thanks for the memories.
