Mosaic Panel 9 - featuring Wildlife Warrior - Steve Irwin & Australian creatures

Mosaic Mural Panel - tribute to Steve Irwin Australia Zoo

In this Panel, Steve Irwin is surround by Australian creatures, great and small.

Sandy made a mosaic of Steve Irwin out of slate to show the inner strength of the great man.

Australian wildflowers, crocs of course and exquiste mosaics made with beautiful attention to detail are showcased on this mural.  Wonderful mosaics make this panel spectactular.

Many stories are woven into the mural panels and this panel has special meaning with words inscribed on the panel substrate, under "Steve's boots".   Steve Irwin was known for his kindness and generosity of spirit.   One of the helpers on the mosaic mural, Wendy,  had a truly special memory of Steve Irwin and it meant a great deal to her to put her story, set forever in the cement.

The mosaic boots are made of Italian smalti and based on the photo of Steve Irwin's boots on the beautiful book "My Steve" written by Terri Irwin, which was gifted to Sandy by Wendy.  The book and this mural hold a very special time shared during the making of the mural panels, at OzMosaics.

So  many wonderful experiences and moment shared - Keep coming back as the stories are told and photos are shared.
