As
there are a few that I have done it’s not possible really to say how long
they took altogether. One budgie took
around 3-4 hours probably (that’s with tea breaks of course). |

The first
flamingo took a couple of months because he had to be packed away in the
middle of proceedings, we needed the table for
Christmas! The second took about three weeks |

Oh, I’d say about 2 weeks for the
Puffin and about 4 weeks for the dolphin, due to other projects in the house. |

About three weeks in total, first 3 days
getting ideas from Google images, drawing up the pictures and preparing he
mesh base, about 10 days in the actual making – the addictive part, then a
week to dry before packaging up. |

Carolyn - ? WAY too long; much time was spent doubting
myself and worrying about whether Terri would ever recognize Malina, if she would remember her, if it would matter, if
I was ruining Malina's splendid face, and taking
out and redoing each part probably at least three times...all in all, I
started in early November and finished in late January. There were weeks I
didn't work on it at all because I wasn't sure I could do it justice. Anna - About five days. |

Most of it was done by the
children in one day. I finished up the eyes and mouth in another afternoon. |

It took
me a couple of weeks of thinking and pouring through picture books and then
once I started it only took me two days or two sittings. |

1st mosaic, The Australian Pelican
was completed over many weeks as this was my1st glass mosaic. Many hrs converting my photo to a line
drawing then scale up by drawing on a Grid, found the drawing wasn’t exactly suited to the tesserae but I continued gluing tile to the mesh &
correcting the design as it progressed. One color unavailable so discovered
glass to complete the beak & smalti to convey
some kind of detail to the eye. 2nd project The Ulysses butterfly
only took a weekend to glue & a few hrs to design a template 3rd mosaic The Emerald Tree Boa.
Designed with a book on how to draw animals, a few hrs to sketch &
enlarge. My photo from |

Once the
process started, I’d guess 5 or 6 hours, which amazes me actually. I really
got into the mojo of mosaics on this one. |

made their mosaics in a few short hours one afternoon. Irene made her two
mosaics in several sessions over a two month period. Lynne worked on her
piece intermittently for a year. |
