The boys have deemed themselves far too old to do anything like helping.  Very good at asking for me to do some pavers for them though.

Yes, my children helped wash the glue paper off the back of the vitreous glass and we used a blow dryer to speed up the drying process.

No children assisted me as we do not have children. However, Chris’s two young nephews Gregory and James (13 and 12) watched me for a while and I asked if they would like to try mosaic. Their response was most enthusiastic so I set them up in the studio. I did give them the option of doing their pieces on mesh but they preferred to make them as wall hangings for home. We drilled holes into ceramic tiles and strung picture wire through the holes before they started so their finished pieces could be hung and they had a great time gluing down ceramic tile chattering away to themselves. It was great company while I worked on my piece. A couple days later we grouted their masterpieces and it was satisfying for me to see their faces light up at the change grout can make to a mosaic. I regret not taking pictures of the pieces as they were very good for a first try.

Yes- I taught a children’s workshop and at the end of the workshop the children worked on the tiger for the mural. Most of the children are members of the Fireflies of Acadia Parish – a group that does torch work. Most are also in a gifted class. They range from age 11-13. They all received “Wildlife Warrrior wrist bands that I received when I sent a donation.
