No real motivation from anyone else – although it did help when family and friends told me which ones they really liked out of the little zoo of birds, animals and plants.

We have a very proud father/husband and little brother/son that were great with support and encouragement. Seeing all the other fantastic mosaics that had already been sent to Sandy was also very inspiring.

Donna - No one assisted me with the creation of my particular mosaics, although they did give me feedback.  However, my husband and 5 children created their own mosaic along with me.   Everyone got involved in the preparation process to make our mosaics.  My husband and I set up the dining table for our work surface and taped down everyone’s designs under the plastic.  The children helped prepare the glass.  See question below.

My husband Robert gave me his blessing to make whatever I wanted and spend as much as I wanted on tesserae.  He viewed this project as being a gift to the world.  He was so understanding when I spent Christmas and New Year’s up in my studio working on the toucan.

My 10-year-old son was the main positive contributor within our household, and exciting to share progress pictures with people from MAG.

Carolyn - I would ask my husband and daughter to find places they thought should be redone—they contributed greatly to whatever successful nuances there are in the piece.

Anna - My mother helped me on maybe two or three pieces, but I did the cutting and gluing myself!

Yes, I got inspiration for the croc from Caz Kovacs. I was really stuck with ideas so I saw hers and with her permission I kind of copied it. Caz calls my croc her crocs cousin -J
