Sandy and mosaic mates attended the Brisbane City Council "Saviour of the Lost Arts" in King George Square". It was a great day out and we met some interesting people and chatted about mosaics. A large group of people will meet at OzMosaics studio in June for a 2 hour meet and mosaic at OzMosaics studio as part of the Saviours of the Lost Arts program. The scones and cupcakes were delicious, thank you BCC! Photos are on Facebook.
Dave and Sandra Robertson visited Bribie Island Art Centre - a wonder weekend of mosaics - thanks to students and BIAC for a great time! Special thanks to Liz for changing the dates for the mosaic workshop to allow me to go to Hong Kong for the mosaic exhibition, much appreciated!

David and Sandra Robertson visited Hong Kong - April 2011 and worked together on the mosaic exhibition - Mosaic Eggstravaganza!

A wonderful mix of art and artists for a good cause!

Sandy exhibited mosaic panels, wheelbarrow, pots, cup-cakes, birdbaths, decorative home ware and garden mosaic decor. The pelican panel featured thinset painted and textured with shells and pebbles. Sandy's unique raised mesh method gave the pelican beautiful highlights.

Sandy showed the newbies to mosaics how to mix thinset adhesive, use all the mosaic tools and apply mosaics in the direct mosaic method, indirect, mesh and more! A good dollop of thinset showcased how to do 3-D mosaics Sandy Style! The 2 hour mosaic introduction stretchd to 10.00pm - more mosaic addicts for sure! Thanks to all who attended and thanks to the Brisbane City Council who organised this free evening for interested Brisbane artists and crafters! OzMosaics loved being part of the Saviours of the Lost Arts program.
